    Jem Wilcox

We are saddened to learn that Jem has lost his long battle with lymphoma and passed away on 15th September 2015.

Anyone who has walked with Mountainwalks in Quatretondeta on a guided walking holiday, between 2007 and 2011 may have been led by Jem. Jem was an excellent leader and appreciated by the many he led through these mountains. He was also a great friend and instrumental in committing to paper the many different routes that I had developed over the previous 23 years. As well as adding a few of his own. He was also an outstanding photographer, with many published works. His contribution to the Mountainwalks photo library cannot be under estimated.

Jem had a lifelong relationship with the mountains and had led walking holidays for over 30 years for such organisations as, Ramblers, Waymark Holidays, Exodus as well as Mountainwalks. His favourite mountains and speciality was the Austrian Alps where he led many holidays over many years . He also had a soft spot for the Mountains of Alicante and spent many weeks here each year leading holidays.

With is passing we send our best wishes to his wife Gill .

Perhaps now his spirit is free to roam the mountains he loved so much.

Thanks for the support and friendship Jem.
    We will miss you
Here is a selection of some of Jem’s photo
