The sponsored walk organised by mountainWALKS for the World Owl Trust in aid of Barn Owl conservation in the UK was a great success with all participants completing the gruelling trek of the entire length of the Sierra Serrella and all its peaks. Self guided/independent walking holidays in the Mountains of Alicante inland from the Costa Blanca.
We are making rapid progress cataloging all our walks with detailed maps and descriptions, thanks to the efforts of one of our leaders Jem Wilcox. There are now 116 different self guided walks mapped with detailed route descriptions. In total we have more than 1600 kms of footpath mapped and described, with in excess of 60,000 mts of ascent/descent.
Other walks are currently in development.There are walks to suit most abilities.

Sadly Waymark Holidays have ceased to exist as an independent company offering walking holidays. Having been bought out by First Choice Holidays/TUI and absorbed into their Exodus division, Waymark walking holidays came to an end in late 2007. The Waymark Holidays name is still the property of TUI/ First Choice and the Waymark name is still used to promote Winter Skiing holidays. A small number of the Waymark Holidays walking destinations were aborbed into the Exodus programme but a great many excellent destinations have been lost and the choice of holidays available to walkers has been reduced.
